DegrowUS Virtual Assembly

An evening of conversation, catching up and strategizing the future of DegrowUS and degrowth organizing in the United States! This event is open to anyone interested in DegrowUS and/or organizing and activism for degrowth in the American context.

The assembly opened with short talks about Degrowth in the United States from our keynote speakers, Susan Paulson and Jamie Tyberg.

Then, the DegrowUS team gave a brief history of our work so far and plans for the future.

There were opportunities for organizers to talk to one another in breakout groups focusing on different aspects of degrowth organizing going forward, followed by some full group discussion, Q&A and planning next steps.

Breakout topics included:

• Building partnerships with degrowth allies and allied movements

• Local organizing for degrowth

• Degrowth and policy

• Creating degrowth media and content

• Degrowth in academia
